Information Technology Applications 2 |
Information Technology Applications 2 uses advanced features of computer applications packages to produce documents and store, manipulate and retrieve data.
To complete this unit you must have access to appropriate hardware and software.
Hardware: requires access to a PC 486 or better with at least Windows 95 or better.
Software: Word processing, Spreadsheets, Database and access to the internet.
The "Engineering project" is worth 2 credits. However when taking the project we encourage the student to also take the " Communications" module (1 credit) and the "Information Technology Applications 2" module (1 credit) at the same time. The reason being there is a lot of overlap and there is no point in doing repeat work; wordprocessing, spreadsheet, etc...... Thus when taking the project you are taking 4 credits. Also in many cases, this HNC project is used as the foundation of the B.Eng project, later on.
The presentation (communications module element) is usually done in front of your industrial supervisor/employer.
