
The EP 512 ultrasonic transmitter
is placed inside an enclosure, e.g. a steel tank, which is then
closed. The user can then examine the tank from the outside perimeter
and can easily find any leaks, if any, which sounds like "PIPS"
in the headphones.
The range of transmitter using
the EP641 air leak detector is up to 15 metres, with the EP 542
ultrasonic it is up to 22 metres and using the EP 2000/EP 2400
ultrasonic detector is 27 metres.



The EP512 ultrasonic
transmitter is placed inside the aircraft or fridge (other examples:
cars, train compartments, tanks, etc) and then the ultrasonic
detector (EP542A is shown) is used to check for leaks around the
window seal of the aircraft from the outside or from outside of
the fridge.
