The EP2400 ultrasonic detector set equipment can be used for all general applications within a industrial plant and can also be used for more specialised tasks. It consists of: a detecting device with an extremely higher sensitivity (x 10) than the EP 542 ultrasonic detector.

EP 921 - Hearing protector
EP 931 - Directional probe
EP 943 - Stethoscope sensor

The EP 2400 ultrasonic detector is 10 times more sensitive than the EP 542 ultrasonic detector and can be calibrated to suit the user's requirements, where as the EP 542 ultrasonic detector is fixed.

The EP 2400 ultrasonic detector with calibration (0-35dB) is used to find leaks (e.g. in compressed air installations, vacuum installations, in tanks, car windows etc,.) It can also locate arcing and corona discharge in electrical systems as well as to find mechanical malfunctions on movable parts (e.g. ball bearings, gears, etc.).

The EP 2400 ultrasonic detector equipment works by "listening" in a frequency band normally containing no interference and non-audible for humans (> 20 kHz). Leaking compressed air or electrical flashover (sparks) generates e.g. ultrasonic. Audible noises from the surroundings are filtered off so that the device can also be used in noisy areas.

If leaking a "buzz" can be heard in the headphone. The sound level depends on the size of the leak.

If looking for a very "small minute " leak, the directional probe can be applied to the sensor at the top of the instrument and optimum listening-sensitivity is achieved. Make sure to seal all leaks found at the examination as leakage costs money!

The EP 2400 ultrasonic detector can also work as a "mechanical malfunction feeler" and picks up interference from movable parts through a stethoscope or a clip. The stethoscope only "listens" to low-frequency mechanical vibrations so the stethoscope can also be used in noisy areas. It is also possible to construct a permanent measure removal place e.g. by a built-in piezoe component with a connection plug at a certain machine part that is wished supervised so that the measuring can be made as a pure reading task.

The EP 2400 ultrasonic detector can also be used with the EP 512 ultrasonic transmitter that transmits pulsating ultrasonic. The EP 512 transmitter is placed inside an enclosure, e.g. a steel tank, that is then closed. The user can then examine the tank from the outside perimeter and can easily find leaks, if any, sounding like "pips" in the headphones.

Noise filled areas:

EP 2400 ultrasonic detector can be calibrated for room noise (0 - 35 dB). The EP 2400 ultrasonic detector equipment is used together with authorised and CE approved EP 921 - hearing protector. So fulfilling the rules for personal security in areas where the sound level can exceed 80 dB.

Scopes of application:

Industrial plants, workshops, laboratories, hospital service, breweries, food manufacturers, aeroplane industry etc,.

Examples of application:

Leakage searching in compressed air systems both at high and low pressure - also in extremely noisy surroundings. Vacuum systems. Electric installations where flashovers can be found - including insulators. Leakage searching in laboratory glove boxes in combination with the EP 512 ultrasonic transmitter.
Mechanical transmission both instantly and permanently supervised.

Accessory equipment:

EP 2400 ultrasonic detector can be combined with the EP 512 ultrasonic transmitter (range 27 m).

There is a 2 year warranty on all EP ultrasonic detectors.
