CargoWatch User Instructions/Technical Data |
Description:
A cargo weighing system for the measurement of axle pressures. The system is based on the measurement of pressure on the air suspension system. These measurements are then re-calculated to weight in ton (1 ton = 1000 Kilogram), which can then be read out on a display. When the system is installed on the vehicle, the calibration values for unladen weight and laden weight are then typed in. The apparatus has two channels, which are calibrated independently.
In NORMAL MODE the system will always show the axle pressures for channel 1 (CH1) and channel 2 (CH2) and the sum of channel 1 + channel 2 (TOTAL). In TARE MODE the required cargo weight is typed in and this is then ascertained with help from the LOAD LEVEL indicator- lamps.
The system is provided with three output connections (LOAD LEVEL 1, LOAD LEVEL 2, LOAD LEVEL 3) which can be connected to external warning indicator-lamps.
CargoWatch-P2 has also the possibility to communicate with CargoWatch-M4.
CargoWatch-M4 is a monitoring unit, which can monitor up to 4 CargoWatch-P2 units.
CargoWatch-M4 is typically positioned in the driver's cabine and CargoWatch-P2 units are positioned on the appropriate number of axles on the vehicle. When the electricity source is connected (24 Volt) the following message is displayed:
C a r g o W a t c h - P 2 After 3 sec. the display changes to show software version (this can also be displayed by activating ENTER for 6 sec.):
S o f t w a r e V . 1 . 0 After a further 3 sec. the display changes back to normal (axle pressure):
Calibration / set up:
The system is calibrated (adjusted in accordance with the relevant vehicle) as follows:1. The empty vehicle is driven onto the weighbridge.
2. SETUP is activated for 6 sec. where after the following message is shown on the display:
3. After 3 sec. the display changes to menu for typing in the unladen weight of the empty vehicle (channel 1):
4. The unladen weight (channel 1) is typed in by pressing the UP/DOWN keys and approved/saved function is activated by pressing ENTER for 3 sec. The display shows that the value is saved:
5. SETUP is activated and the display changes to menu for the unladen weight for the empty vehicle for channel 2:
6. The unladen weight for channel 2 is typed in and is approved by pressing ENTER for 3 sec. The display shows that the value is saved:
7. The vehicle is loaded with as much weight as possible (Minimum 90% of the total weight of the unit) and driven onto the weighbridge.
8. SETUP is activated and the display changes to the menu for typing in the weight of the laden vehicle onchannel 1:
9. The laden weight for the vehicle is typed in and approved by pressing ENTER for 3 sec. The display shows that the value is saved:
10.Activate SETUP and the display changes to the menu for typing in the weight of the laden vehicle (channel 2):
11. The weight of the laden vehicle (channel 2) is typed in and approved by pressing ENTER for 3 sec. The display shows that the value is saved:
12. Activate SETUP and the display changes to menu for typing in cargo level 1 (external output to indicatorlamp LOAD LEVEL 1):
13. If the output signal is required for the external warning indicator-lamps, the cargo level for warning indicator-lamp 1 (LOAD LEVEL) is typed in with the UP/DOWN keys. If no output signal is required then 00.0 TON is typed in. Press ENTER for 3 sec. to approve and the display shows that the value is saved:
14. Activate SETUP and the display changes to menu for typing in cargo-level 2 (LOAD LEVEL 2):
15. Cargo-level for warning indicator-lamp 2 (LOAD LEVEL 2) is typed in (see instruction 13 above). Press ENTER for 3 sec. to approve and the display shows that the value is saved:
16. Activate SETUP and the display changes to menu for typing in cargo-level 3 (LOAD LEVEL 3):
17. Cargo-level for warning indicator-lamp 3 (LOAD LEVEL 3) is typed in (see instruction 13). Press ENTER 3 sec. to approve and the display shows that the value is saved:
18. Activate SETUP and the display changes to menu for tare value:
19. Using the UP/DOWN keys select tare function if required (TARE) (ON or OFF). Press ENTER 3 sec. and the display shows that the function is saved:
20. Activate SETUP and the display changes to menu for typing in cargo-level for LOAD LEVEL 1 indicatorlamp in relation to LOAD LEVEL 3 ( in TARE MODE), thus the LOAD LEVEL 3 indicator-lamp will always be activated when the given weight in TARE MODE is reached. The LOAD LEVEL 1 indicator-lamp will thus be activated, i.e. TARE LEVEL 1 value, before the given weight in TARE MODE is reached:
21. The cargo-level for the LOAD LEVEL 1 indicator-lamp in TARE MODE is given by using the UP/DOWN keys. Press ENTER 3 sec. to approve and the display shows that the value is saved:
22. Activate SETUP and the display changes to menu for typing in the cargo-level for LOAD LEVEL 2 indicator-lamp in relation to LOAD LEVEL 3 (in TARE MODE), thus the LOAD LEVEL 3 indicator-lamp will always be activated when the given weight in TARE MODE is reached. The LOAD LEVEL 2 indicator-lamp will thus be activated, i.e. TARE LEVEL 2 value, before the given weight in TARE MODE is reached:
23. The cargo-level for the LOAD LEVEL 2 indicator-lamp in TARE MODE is given by using the UP/DOWN keys. Press ENTER for 3 sec. to approve and the display shows that the value is saved:
If SETUP is activated then the display will change to the first menu (see instruction 3). Therefore SETUP is used to change menues and ENTER is used to approve/save the typed in values. Exit the SETUP MODE menu by activating SETUP for 3 seconds after which the display reverts to normal display.
The system is now calibrated and will, in NORMAL MODE, always show the axle pressures for channel 1(CH1), channel 2(CH2) and the sum of channel 1 and channel 2 (TOTAL):
(Example)
If TARE MODE:ON (see instructions 18/19) is chosen from the menu, by pressing SETUP the system will change between NORMAL and TARE MODE. In TARE MODE the system will function as follows:
By changing to TARE MODE the display will show the following:
(Values blink)
The required cargo-value is typed in using the UP/DOWN keys and is approved by pressing ENTER. The display shows the typed in value:
(Example)
When the given value is reached the LOAD LEVEL 3 indicator-lamp will illuminate. LOAD LEVEL 3 is always the sum of channel1 + channel 2.
The tare value will always register when unloading or loading. When loading the display will show ''+'' after the given tare value. When unloading the display will show ''-'' after the given tare value. In the example above (3.5 TON), the LOAD LEVEL3 indicator-lamp will illuminate when loading 3.5 TON and when unloading 3.5 TON.
If a new tare value is required then press SETUP and new values can be typed in.
If SETUP is pressed once again the system will change to NORMAL display.
In TARE MODE CargoWatch-P2 will not communicate with a connected CargoWatch-M4 (monitor-unit).
The CargoWatch-P2 unit will automatically convert to stand-by mode if the unit is not activated for 3 minutes.
Although the LOAD LEVEL indicator-lamps will still be active and the system can still communicate with a connected CargoWatch-M4 unit. The three output connections (LOAD LEVEL 1, LOAD LEVEL 2 and LOAD LEVEL 3) can be connected to external indicator warning lamps (24 Volt, max 3 x 35W).
